Torre Pellice, Thursday, May 19

At 8:45 p.m. at the Waldensian House (2 Beckwith Street) and live streaming on the Waldensian Cultural Center Foundation Facebook page, presentation of the new volume The Bible Collections of the Waldensian Libraries of Torre Pellice and Rome, edited by Marco Fratini, Lorenzo Di Lenardo and Stefania Villani. Speaking with the editors are Bruna Peyrot and Davide Rosso (Ccv), Daniele Garrone and Lothar Vogel (Fvt), and Paolo Cozzo (University of Turin).

This book brings together the results of the work of cataloging and studying the rich collections of the Waldensian Library of Torre Pellice and the Waldensian Faculty of Theology in Rome (a total of about 5,000 specimens).
About 20 texts by Italian and foreign specialists and about 130 cards of the most valuable specimens highlight the importance of printed editions of the Bible in the Waldensian world in relation to Italian and European Protestantism, from the Reformation in the 16th century to the end of the 19th century, and the history of the formation of the two collections, thanks to foreign gifts and the contributions of the Waldensian community, which preserved them generation after generation.
